How to visit Mosquito Bay:
The bay is located on the south side of Vieques, not far from the main town of Esperanza. Here you can book a tour from one of the several local tour companies that offer guided tours of Mosquito Bay. Most tours meet in the Esperanza town center then travel to the bay via bus or van. Often times, there are multiple tours per night – one just after sunset and one around 8 p.m.
Mosquito Bay is accessed by kayak only. Some kayaks have glass bottoms which allow you to see the glowing water and billions of microorganisms beneath you.
》Laguna Grande in Fajardo:
Laguna Grande, the most accessible and renowned bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico, is nestled in Fajardo, a mere hour and fifteen minutes drive from San Juan. Distinguishing itself from other bays, it takes the form of a narrow channel linking directly to the Atlantic Ocean. How to visit Laguna Grande:
Similar to Mosquito Bay, To visit Laguna Grande, you will have to book a tour from one of the authorised tour operators. Here too you can experience the display of bioluminescence through glass bottom kayaks.
Laguna Grande is located in the town of Fajardo. From San Juan, it's just a one-hour-and-fifteen-minute drive to Laguna Grande. Since the tours take place at night, you'll probably want to spend the night in Fajardo, and visiting other attractions in this town.
》La Parguera in Lajas.
La Parguera's bioluminescent bay, situated in the southwestern region of Lajas, Puerto Rico, stands as a unique destination. It's the sole bioluminescent bay in which motorboats are permitted. What sets it apart further is that it's the only bio bay where swimming is also allowed. Guided tours even provide the necessary equipment, allowing you to take a thrilling dive and swim amidst the enchanting glow after nightfall. Alternatively, you can opt for a serene glass-bottom boat ride, allowing you to spend the night in contemplation.

La Parguera, a charming village and a prime attraction in Lajas, is a sought-after destination. Located just a two-hour drive from San Juan, you can reach it conveniently by taxi or opt for a tour package. These packages often include a visit to the renowned bioluminescent bay, as well as the opportunity to explore other attractions in La Parguera. Also you can opt for the tour of bioluminescent bay only.
